 Cartographic
Publishing House (CPH) is established on 01/28/1995 according to decision number 18/QĐ-ĐC,
signed on 01/28/1995 by Land Servey Head Department
(LSH).
On
the 12/21/1996, LSH signed to merge the cartographic enterprise and
the land servey printing enterprise into CPH.
After
that,
according to decision of LSH and Ministry Of Natural
Resourses And Environment to merge the printing
workshop of Geodesic company number 1 and the
drawing-servey enterprise of Geodesic company number 3
and the hydrometeorology printing enterprise into CPH.
Up
to now,
CPH is a organization that the cartographic
professional staff is  the
most vigorous in VietNam with 460 workers (include: 2
PhDs, 9 MScs, 150 engineers, 100 technicians and other
works). In addition, CPH has much modern
machines for establishing, printing the maps: a
networking system,
the servers, 200 computers, the scanners, the
printers, auto desktop publishing machine Transetter
Quantium (Creo-Canada), mapsetter-6000
(Intergraph-USA) and offset printers 2 colors, 4
colors, 6 colors of Man-Roland, Heidelberg, Misubishi,
etc... CPH has multiform cartographic poducts: atlas,
paper maps, webmaps, database, GIS, printing products
dor the exporting, etc..
We’re
putting the ISO-9000 into producing.
Last
years,
CPH’s completedthe commissions, produced 6000
terrain maps,  much
specsial maps, printing products. Until 2004, the
turnover’s above 65 billions VND, about 142% in
comparison with 2003, about 14 instalments in
comparison with 1995.
Outside
the nscope of speciality, CPH’s established hemdreds of other products:
special maps, books, etc.. and its published at home
and abroad as VietNam
historic map, revolutionary operating life of
HoChiMinh president, DienBienPhu historic map, Vietnam
economic map, etc.
At
present, CPH’s published Vietnam maps with multi –
languages: Thai, Dao, Tay, Nung, Ede, H’Mong,
Champa, HaNhi, Jarai, etc..
 Special
things,
CPH’s established products: “Drawing, desktop
publishing and printing Vietnam atlas”. This atlas
is a greatest success of the Vietnam people in their
cartographic technology. It’s a valuable cultural
product of Vietnam.
Beside,
CPH’s trived for mastery the consultative functions
and missions about oublishing, printing the maps on a
nationcal scale. CPH’s published 2730 products,
printed 17.6 billions pappers, awared 462 the paper
certifing  standard
of publishing and won the the most prizes in the nice
book contest of Vietnam..
The
science and technology researching,
cooperating with the partners, it’s the strength of
CPH. CPH presided over 8 science researching themes,
cooperating with Germany to train specialists CIM,
cooperating with cartographic organizations: Denmark,
Japan, Canada, Thailand, etc... to produce the
exporting products. In the 1993, CPH’s a partner of
International Map Dealers Association. CPH cooperated
with WaterTech company of Denmark to established
Vidagis company that it operate about the GIS field.
Last
times,
CPH gieve one’s mind to proving the worker’s
living conditions,  create
good conditions the jobs for workers, with per capita
income 2.5 million VND/a worker/a month. CPH’s built
the houses for wounded soldiers, advocated 700 million
VND for poor people.
CPH’s
results, they’re recorded by much noble reward of
Vietnam:
Labour Medal Level 3 (1995), Labour Medal Level 1
(2001), four emulating flags of the Government (1996,
1997, 1999, 2000), five certificates of merit of
Primier, 60 emulating flags and certificate of merits
of the ministries, the professions. And other
emulating rewards of the Vietnam Labour General
Confederation, of the Hanoi city Labour Federation, of
the Printing Labour Union, etc...
